Franklin Rodeo Parade Rules
- Registration Requirement:
All parade participants must register to ensure an organized and enjoyable experience for everyone. Register promptly via the Franklin Rodeo website at www.franklinrodeo.com. Confirmation, lineup numbers, and staging location details will be sent via email closer to Parade Day. - Judging Criteria:
- Registered entries will be judged on Originality/Creativity, Artistry/Design, and Content/Theme by two judges.
- Judging occurs in the staging area before the parade starts at 11 a.m.
- Decisions by the judges are final.
- Prohibited Activities:
- No political campaigning in any form (e.g., floats, cars, groups).
- Offensive costumes, flags, signs, or banners, as determined by the Parade Committee, are not allowed.
- Profane, obscene, or vulgar language, gestures, or signs are strictly prohibited.
- Indecent exposure, lewd behavior, and sexually explicit content are forbidden. Exceptions apply to breastfeeding mothers or those changing clothes in designated areas.
- Harassment or discrimination based on protected characteristics (e.g., age, gender, religion) is prohibited.
- Parade Conduct:
- Participants must stay in their assigned positions for the duration of the parade, ending at Jim Warren Park.
- Disorderly conduct, passing others, or leaving the route may result in removal.
- Suitable attire is required for all participants.
- Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the assembly area or along the route.
- For safety, nothing may be thrown from parade entries, though walkers may distribute items.
- Equine Entries:
- Horse and mule riders must ride two abreast and register as a group.
- Riders must maintain control of their animals. Unsafe behavior may result in removal.
- No backward riding is allowed.
- Pet Policy:
- Dogs must remain on a leash while on the parade route.
- Parade Safety:
- Stay in the center of the street, following the center line.
- Participants must keep moving throughout the parade and are not allowed to stop, as this can create long breaks between entries and disrupt the parade flow.
- Ensure all actions promote peace, safety, and good order.
Acceptance of Responsibility & Release of Liability
By participating in the Franklin Rodeo Parade, participants agree to release the Franklin Noon Rotary Club, its members, officers, and affiliated organizations from any claims of injury or death resulting from their participation.We look forward to a fun and memorable Franklin Rodeo Parade for all participants and spectators!
